📊Do you have a customer in several cities? Or do you have customer names that are frequently updated? If so, we've developed a feature to help you manage your customers using the Customer Reference option in CashCollect. 🎉

What is the client reference option?

In CashCollect, clients names usually have to be unique, because that's how our system define a client. This system can be confusing if several of your clients have the same name, or if you want to update several clients names in a batch action.

For those use cases, we have developped the client reference option. This allows you to manage clients with a unique ID in addition to the name. This also allows for easier import of your client list if your clients are defined with a unique ID in your CRM or ERP system.

This option can only be activated by your Account Manager : you can request it via the chat.

What are the impacts?

With the client reference option, your clients will be identified with their unique ID (instead of their unique name) in all our system.

This has several impacts :

First, this client ID is required in your contacts import, your client data import, as well as your invoice import. If it's not included, your imports will fail.

Second, this client ID is mandatory, unique (two clients cannot have the same ID), and cannot be modified once it is set.

However, the constraints that previously applied to the client name are removed: it is still mandatory, but it doesn't have to be unique, and it can be updated manually or via import.
