How to manage your Project Forecast? 🤔
How to manage your Project Forecast? 🤔

Plan your cashflow with precise forecasts, either at an entity level or directly within each project.

Updated over 2 months ago

Entity vs. Project Forecast

  • Base rule: Entity-level forecast = Sum of all project forecasts.

  • If you enter a forecast on entity level, it overrides the sum of the project forecasts for that position.

  • If you delete an entity-level forecast, it automatically falls back to the sum of all project forecasts.

Manual Forecast Input

  1. Open a project.

  2. Double-click the target cell in the Project Cashflow table.

  3. Enter your forecast amount.

Your project forecast will be instantly reflected in the entity view (unless overridden by an entity-level forecast).

Project Cashflow Conversion

Project forecasts are converted using the same currency rules as entity forecasts.
The project’s current balance or margin takes the sum of converted inflows and outflows.

Exporting Project Forecasts

When you export the forecast (raw data) from settings "export data":

  • The ‘Project’ column indicates if the forecast line is on a project or on the entity.

  • Empty ‘Project’ = entity-level forecast.

  • Project name = project-level forecast.

  • Aggregated lines at entity level are not exported as separate lines; only project-level is included.

Importing Project Forecasts

  1. Go to the Settings and select Import data.

  2. As import type select "Forecast"

  3. Download or prepare your Excel/CSV file.

  4. Include a ‘Project’ column for each row if you want your forecast on project level (put the project name or leave it empty for entity level).

  5. Upload your file in Agicap.

Tip: If you need multiple projects in the template, export your current forecast from Agicap, then modify the file and re-import.

💡 Tips

  • Combine entity forecasting for recurring fixed costs and project forecasting for more dynamic variables like sales.

  • Removing an entity forecast line triggers automatic fallback to the combined project forecasts.

  • For advanced scenario management, carefully re-check your import files to avoid unintentional override of project-level lines.

FAQ ❓

What if I only need some categories at the project level?

Simply enter project-level forecasts for those categories in the Project Cashflow table, while leaving other categories at entity level.

Can I display both entity and project forecasts on the same category?

Yes. Entity-level forecasts appear as an override. If you remove them, you’ll revert to the sum of project-level forecasts.

How do I see which forecast is currently applied?

Look at the Forecast plan. If there is no entity input, the value displayed is the sum of all project-level entries. Otherwise, the entity-level entry is shown.

Why is the export missing my entity forecast lines?

Entity-level figures aren’t exported as separate lines. The system exports project-level forecasts (or lines with a blank “Project” if it’s purely entity-level input).
