Adjusting the Input Level of Your Forecast

You can define your forecast at either the parent category level or the child category level.

  • Parent Level: Set forecasts for broader categories.

  • Child Level: Set more detailed forecasts for specific sub-categories.

💡 Note: For automatic categories like VAT or Uncategorized, the input level can only be one of them.

Choosing Your Forecast Input Frequency

Select how often you want to input your forecasts:

  • Daily

  • Weekly

  • Monthly (Recommended)

  • Quarterly

=> Some features are optimized for a Monthly frequency, so we recommend choosing this unless you have specific needs.

⚠️ Switching Frequencies:

  • When you switch from a larger frequency to a thiner one (e.g., Monthly to Weekly), the forecast values are attributed to the first period of the new frequency.

  • When switching from a thiner frequency to a larger one, the forecast is summed. History is kept if you switch back to the original thiner frequency.

Setting the Computation Mode

The computation mode determines how Agicap calculates your forecast achievements:

Forecast Achieved Globally

  • Surpluses in one sub-category can offset shortfalls in another.

  • The main category forecast is always equal the sum of the sub-category forecast.

  • This mode is to be preferred if you need to achieve your overall forecast, regardless of your transactions' split.

Forecast Achieved Category by Category

  • Surpluses in one sub-category do not affect others.

  • The main category value equals the sum of the sub-category values.

  • This mode is to be preferred if you want a more conservative view of your cash flow.

=> Choosing Category by Category provides a more detailed gap analysis for each sub-category.

FAQ ❓

What happens to my forecast data when I switch input frequencies?

When changing frequencies, Agicap reassigns your forecast values to the corresponding period. For example, moving from daily to monthly will aggregate daily values into their respective months. The original dates are preserved if you switch back.

Can I change the input level for VAT or Uncategorized categories?

No, the input level for automatic categories like VAT and Uncategorized is fixed and cannot be changed.
