Step-by-Step Guide to Importing Your Category Tree

  1. Access the Import Page: Click on the three lines ☰ in the top right corner of your page

    and select Import data.

  2. Select Categories: In the Import type menu, choose Categories.

  3. Choose Categories to Import: Select whether you want to import the category tree for Cash inflow, Cash outflow, or Both.

  4. Download the Template: Click on Download a template to get the correct file format for your categories.

  5. Prepare Your File:

    • Open the downloaded template file.

    • Add your custom categories by filling in the template.

    • Always create parent categories before child categories.

      • Example:

        • Cash inflow > Sales

        • Cash inflow > Sales > Take away

  6. Save Your File: Ensure your file is saved in xlsx, xls, or csv format.

  7. Upload Your File: Click on Upload, select your prepared file, and proceed with the import.

Important Considerations

  • ⚠️ Importing categories will delete and replace all existing categories for the company. Make sure to back up any important data before proceeding.

  • ⚠️ Language Settings: Ensure you are displaying the account in your preferred language when importing. Default categories like To be Categorized will be named according to the language setting.
