Creating a Category

To create a new category:

  1. Go to the Categories page by clicking on the three lines ☰ in the top right corner of your cashflow plan view and then, on Settings.

  2. Click on Add new category.

  3. Enter the name of your new category.

  4. Press Enter to save it.

You can also create a subcategory:

  1. Hover over an existing category.

  2. Click on the button that appears next to the category name.

  3. Enter the name of your subcategory.

  4. Press Enter to save it.

Tip: For optimal performance, it's recommended to avoid nesting too many categories. Keeping to one sublevel is ideal.

Deleting a Category

To delete a category:

  1. Navigate to the Categories page.

  2. Find the category you want to delete.

  3. Click on the three dots (...) next to the category.

  4. Select Delete from the dropdown menu.

To delete all categories:

  1. On the Categories page, click on the three dots (...) next to the search bar.

  2. Select Delete all categories.

⚠️ Note: Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Deleting a category will:

  • Remove associated categorization rules targeting that category.

  • Uncategorize all transactions linked to it.

  • Generate errors in KPIs formulas using the deleted category.

  • Require updates to custom dashboards that include the deleted category.

Moving a Category

To move a category:

  1. Hover over the category you wish to move.

  2. Click and hold to grab it.

  3. Drag and drop it to the desired position.

This allows you to reorder categories or change the hierarchy (parent and subcategories).

Tip: You can sort categories alphabetically:

  1. Click on the three dots (...) next to the search bar.

  2. Select Sort in alphabetical order.

💡 Tips

  • Consistency: Categories are separate from Inflows and Outflows. Keep your categorization consistent for accurate reporting.

  • Hierarchy: Limit the number of subcategory levels for better performance—one sublevel is optimal.

  • Language: To change the language of default categories, go to the three dots (...) next to the search bar !
