When Can You Split a Transaction?
You can split paid transactions on both synchronized and manual accounts.
Eligible Transactions: Only paid transactions (not expected transactions) can be split.
Account Types: Splitting is available on synchronized accounts and manual accounts.
How to Split a Transaction
Select the Transaction: Go to the Transactions page or the Cashflow Plan and select the transaction you wish to split.
Open Transaction Details: Click on the transaction to open its details panel.
Initiate Split: Click on the Split button.
Enter Split Details:
Name: Provide a name for each split piece. This is mandatory.
Category: Assign a category to each piece. You can leave it as "Uncategorized" if unsure.
Amount: Specify the amount for each split piece. Amounts can be positive or negative and must sum up to the original transaction's amount.
Confirm the Split: Review your entries and confirm the split.
Note: When splitting transactions with negative amounts (e.g., reversed transactions), you don't need to add a minus "-" sign before the amounts.
Impact of Splitting a Transaction
Original Transaction Hidden: The original transaction is hidden from your cashflow plan and dashboards but remains stored in Agicap.
Creation of Split Transactions: New transactions are created based on your split details, each tagged with Split.
Categorization: Each split transaction can be individually categorized, enabling detailed cashflow analysis.
Display of Uncategorized Splits: If you leave a split transaction uncategorized, it will display the orange "Uncategorized" pre-category.
Managing Split Transactions
You can perform any action on split transactions that you can on manual paid transactions:
Categorize or Re-categorize: Assign or change categories for accurate reporting.
Edit Details: Adjust names, amounts, or other transaction details.
Delete Transactions: Remove split transactions if necessary.
Note: You cannot split a transaction that has already been split.
How to Cancel a Split
Select a Split Transaction: Choose any of the split pieces you wish to cancel.
Manage the Split: In the transaction details panel, click on Manage the split.
Cancel the Split: Click on Cancel the split in the modal window.
Consequences:
The original transaction is restored with all its initial details.
The split transactions are permanently deleted.
⚠️ Important: Cancelling a split is irreversible. If you need the split transactions again, you'll have to redo the split.

Understanding Transactions: A transaction in Agicap includes details like paid/expected status, title, type (inflow/outflow), category, bank account, amount, currency, payment date, and notes.
Handling Negative Amounts: When splitting a transaction with a negative amount, input the amounts as positive numbers. Agicap handles the sign automatically.
Activation of Split V2: If Split V2 isn't active on your account, please contact your account administrator or Agicap support to activate it.
