Why Delete a Bank Account?

Deleting a bank account helps you maintain accurate financial records by removing accounts that are no longer needed. You might want to delete a bank account if:

  • It's a personal account that shouldn't be tracked in your business finances.

  • It's a duplicated account resulting from integration changes or multiple connections.

Important Considerations Before Deleting

  • Permanent Removal: Deleting a bank account permanently removes all related transactions from Agicap. These cannot be recovered.

  • User Permissions: Only Entity Admins, Users with right to 'Display inactive accounts' and Agicap Staff with access to the entity can delete bank accounts.

  • Deactivate First: A bank account must be deactivated (toggle left of the bank's name needs to be grey) in all entities before it can be deleted.

How to Delete a Bank Account

Follow these steps to delete a bank account:

  1. Go to the Bank & Integrations Page:

    • Log in to Agicap and navigate to the Bank & Integrations section, from the menù ≡ on the top right.

  2. Find the Bank Account you wish to delete,

  3. Deactivate the Bank Account in All Entities:

    • If the account is active, click on the three dots [...] next to its name and move the cursor over the trashcan icon to view the list of entities where it's still activated.

    • Deactivate the bank account in each entity by clicking on the blue toggle on the left. Repeat on each entity.

  4. Delete the Bank Account:

    • After deactivating, click on the three dots on the right of the bank account and then on the trashcan icon.

    • Confirm the deletion when prompted.

    • Make sure you are deleting a bank account only when necessary: all related data (transactions, balances..) will be irreversibly lost

Note: If you delete all bank accounts associated with a bank, the bank will disappear from the Bank & Integrations page.

💡 Tips

  • Double-Check Before Deleting: Since deletion is irreversible, make sure you no longer need the bank account or its transactions.

  • Clean Up the page: Deleting unnecessary bank accounts helps keep your financial data organised.

  • Review User Permissions: Ensure you have the necessary permissions to delete bank accounts. From the user management page, you must have the right to 'Display inactive accounts'.
