What is Konfipay?

Konfipay is a web service that provides an API for establishing direct connections to your banks without the need for additional software installations like virtual machines. It simplifies the process by allowing you to set up contracts with your banks and retrieve transactions directly into Agicap.

Why Use Konfipay?

  • Quick Setup: Faster than traditional EBICS connections, Konfipay reduces the time needed to connect your bank accounts.

  • Lower Costs: Avoid the expenses associated with virtual machines and software updates.

  • High Availability: Benefit from Konfipay's reliable support and uptime.

  • Enhanced Control: Agicap handles data transformation, allowing for quicker responses to any formatting issues.

How to Set Up Konfipay in Agicap

Follow these steps to connect your bank accounts using Konfipay:

  1. Set Up a Contract with Your Bank:

    • Access the Konfipay platform and initiate a contract with your bank.

    • Contracts are established at the bank account level.

    • This step may involve a small to average fee, depending on your bank.

  2. Wait for Bank Confirmation:

    • Your bank will process the contract setup, which typically takes a few days.

    • Once processed, your bank accounts will be ready for connection.

  3. Create the Connection in Agicap:

    • In Agicap, navigate to the Bank & Integration section.

    • Select Add a bank and choose EBICS (Konfipay) from the list.

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize and activate your accounts.

When to Use SRZ Contracts vs. EBICS Contracts

SRZ Contracts

Use SRZ contracts when:

  • You need to connect one or two bank accounts.

  • You prefer an alternative to PSD2 connections.

  • Quick setup (a few days) is a priority.

  • Cost is a consideration, as SRZ typically incurs a smaller fee.

EBICS via Konfipay

Use EBICS contracts when:

  • You need to connect multiple bank accounts.

  • You require a stable connection equivalent to traditional EBICS.

  • You're looking for an alternative to Mata without the urgency of 9 AM transaction updates.

  • You're prepared for a setup that may take a few weeks.

Supported Banks

Supported for EBICS and SRZ:

  • All native German 🇩🇪, Swiss 🇨🇭, and Austrian 🇦🇹 banks.

  • Theoretically supports Polish 🇵🇱 and Luxembourg 🇱🇺 banks.

Not Supported:

  • Neo-banks like Revolut.

  • Deferred debit card accounts.

Tips for Using Konfipay

  • Data Availability: Transactions are available from the day the connection is set up—not retrospectively for three months like PSD2 connections.

  • Operation Date Usage: Konfipay uses the operation date (booking date) by default for transaction dates in Agicap, ensuring accurate balance calculations.

  • Client Autonomy: Clients can add banks and activate accounts autonomously once the bank has processed the contract.

💡 Tips

  • Contract Setup: Remember that contracts need to be set up manually on the Konfipay interface. Ensure all necessary information is accurately provided to avoid delays.

  • Bank Fees: Be aware that your bank may charge a monthly fee for using Konfipay services.

  • Support: If you encounter any issues during setup, reach out to your Customer Success Manager for assistance.

Q&A ❓

How do I know if my bank supports Konfipay?

Konfipay supports all native German, Swiss, and Austrian banks. It may also support Polish and Luxembourg banks. Neo-banks like Revolut are generally not supported. If unsure, consult with your bank or your Customer Success Manager.
